Injury

Athletes who are not in acute stages of swelling

  • Given 1-2 days after injury after signs of acute inflammation have subsided
  • Used for duration of unit 1x/daily for 3-5 days
  • Typically given as a take home treatment

Used to aid anti-inflammatory response

Post-operative

Athletes who have reduced pain to tolerate muscle twitch, who can safely tolerate muscle contraction

  • Typically given 1-2 weeks post surgery after signs of acute inflammation and pain have subsided
  • Used for duration of unit 1x/daily for 2-3 weeks
  • Typically given as a take home treatment at the end of the day

Used to aid anti-inflammatory response and neurological activation

Recovery

Used when requested or dictated by sports science reporting

Used for the duration of the unit 1x/daily given as a take home treatment

Travel

Pre-game

  • Given out when getting on the bus for away travel, to be worn for duration of travel event. Athletes are instructed to take them off when they get to the hotel and use remainder of battery for pre-game treatment
  • All Athletic Trainers carry 5-8 packages in travel bags for additional athletes on plane or busses who did not receive before getting on bus

Post-game

  • Used in the same manner for travel as pre-game, given out in locker room post game

Pre-game

Given as a take home treatment evening before game day

Used for the duration of the unit overnight
